In 2016, Chase was taken into custody at Bayou Chene, Louisiana, for unauthorized discharge of a firearm after firing at a speeding boat. According to Chase, he was out on a gator hunting mission when the speeding boat coming toward his boat refused to slow down, he then took a shot to the boat as he was afraid it would strike and sink his boat. After the incident, Chase Landry was called to Louisiana court on Monday December 07, 2017 for the start of the trial but Chase was not present on the trial day which made him a wanted man as the judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to cops, the victim's shrimp boat got the brunt of the damage, spilling gasoline from what seemed to be a bullet hole. Chase and the boat took off, but officers eventually caught up with him while driving down a highway. They pulled him over and took him into custody for interrogation. Chase admitted to using a firearm. He was detained and arrested then. Almost quickly, the dispute was forgotten and no further details were made public after what happened to Chase or to the victim.

Soon after the split with his ex-wife Chelsea, Chase and Cheyenne Wheat started their new relationship. Cheyenne Wheat a.k.a Pickle Wheat, another professional alligator hunter, had posted to be “in a relationship” with Chase on October 25, 2020. These two with the very same interest and passion would be a power couple and a compatible one.
