Audiences intrigued by the animals are familiar with the most charismatic and lovable veterinarian Dr. Jan Pol and his interesting show “The Incredible Dr. Pol”. The widely popular reality TVs series in NatGeo, in its 20th season, now beautifully provides information on how to take care of farm animals. 

It will not be wrong to say that Diane Pol is the heart of “The incredible Dr. Pol” beside Dr. Pol. 

EARLY LIFE OF DIANE POL 

Diane Pol was born in the midst of the 2nd world war on February 6, 1944 in Mayville, Michigan. She grew in the countryside where she also developed an affinity towards farm animals. The NatGeo TV star and enthusiastic student at an early age did her schooling from Mayville Community High school and completed her master degree in Reading Specialist from Michigan state university. 

HOW THEY MET? 

It seems the couple were blessed to spend the whole of their life together. They had been together since her teenage years. She met her husband when she was still at the high school at the age of 16. They became acquainted when he was an exchange student in her high school. Their love blossomed as they got to know each other. True example of love, they could not stand not knowing about each other and continuously communicated through letters from high school. They happily walked down the aisle in 1967 and had been going strong for more than half a century now.  

HER LONG AND SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONAL CAREER 

After her marriage she moved to the Netherlands with her husband but later shifted to Michigan and began teaching in Harbor Beach Elementary Schools. At the same time, Dr. Pol worked as a veterinarian. Both couples wanted to work together and start their own business. So together they established Pol Veterinary service, Nottawa Township, Michigan, their own animal care facility in 1981 where she had been working as Office Manager. After three decades of their veterinary work they decided to transform it into a TV show. It’s when they started “The Incredible Dr. Pol” in NatGeo. She had been its part from the beginning in 2011. Apart from it she also starred in its spinoff “calling Dr. Pol.” 

Talking to Today’s Veterinary Practice, Dr. Pol said “My first experience after graduating was working for a veterinarian in Harbor Beach, Michigan. However, my wife, Diane, and I were eager to start our own practice here in Weidman, Michigan. When the practice opened in 1981, 80% of our practice was dairy, with the remaining 20% equine and small animals.” 

Expanding her portfolio, she also worked as an Independent Beauty Consultant at Mary Kay. 

HEARTWARMING  STORY OF  THEIR CHILDREN 

Being a broad minded couple, they had adopted three children, Diane Jr., Charles and Kathy Pol. They don’t have biological children though. Their eldest child Diane Pol Jr. was born on 27 March 1973, another daughter Kathy was born on 21 August 1973 and son Charles Pol on 6 March 1979. 

All of their children did schooling from Chippewa Hills High school, Remus, Michigan. Kathy developed her professional career as a phlebotomist, health care professionals who collect blood samples from patients for tests, transfusions or donations in McLaren Bay region. Kathy was married to Greg Butch (deceased) on 30 July 1995. Their son had featured in The Incredible Dr. Pol and worked as its producer as well. He had been married to Beth pol. 

GRANDKID 

This lovely couple are blessed with four grandkids, two from Kathy and two from Charles. Sadly Adam James Butch who was son of Kathy and Gregory Butch had untimely demise at the age of 23 in September 2019. Kathy and Gregory have only one child remaining, daughter Rachel Butch Mae. While Charles have two children, son Silas Pol and daughter Abigail Pol.
