In California, if a storage locker's rent is unpaid for three months, the contents may be auctioned by an appraiser as one lot of goods at a cash-only auction. The program follows experienced purchasers as they make bids on these lockers at storage facilities across the state. The purchasers get five minutes to examine the contents of each locker from the doorway before the auction, but they aren't allowed to go into the compartment or handle any of the objects inside.
