Johnston serves as the director of the Christian Thinkers Society and the vice president for innovation and tactical advertising at Galveston Baptist University in the city of Houston, Texas. Johnston and his spouse Cristae Jo Huf Johnston are theological academics and co-producers of a television series about the "Nones' ' phenomena that is now in development.
